Filter is the travel guide curated by the most intriguing locals. In a recent post, Beatriz Ferreira shares her favorite paths & places around Falkenberg, a small town on the West Coast of Sweden.
Stockholm, the capital, is on the east side of Sweden and besides perhaps the city of Gothenberg, the western coast is little known to non-locals.
Which is a shame. On my own trip to the area, Sweden’s West Coast was tranquil & picturesque: not a dramatic portrayal of nature, but a steady calm. Blue waters & green fields, but the blues were very blue and the greens truly green.
“According to me most of its charm lies in the closeness to nature…surrounded by the sea, the woods, and farmland,” says Beatriz, who moved to Falkenberg some years ago to create Swerl Coffee Roasters.
In her guide, Beatriz calls out her favorite places & paths such as Borgmästaregården, Skrea Matbruk, & Solhaga Bakery, and the Kattegattleden cycle path which connects 390km of Sweden’s West Coast.
