Hi Filter friends—
Seven months and 1 day ago, Filter published our first ever travel guide (Klaus from Coffee Collective set the bar high).
I’m Josh, if we haven’t met, and one of my favorite ways to travel is to find a vibey coffee shop & ask the barista what they do for fun around there. So I turned that idea into Filter, which has published 77 travel guides curated by people in that many coffee shops in over 50 cities & more than 30 countries. We’re just getting started 🚀
Substack was never the longterm home for Filter because the thing about newsletters is you have to open them right then (or else why send the email?) but Filter content isn’t like that: Filter guides are good now & next year, while you’re daydreaming & while you’re traveling.
And so Filter has a new home online, www.filtertravel.co (please click! please bookmark! make this your home page! 😊) where you can always find every Filter travel guide, ever. Go check ‘em out!
With this, the Filter Substack email has transitioned to a weekly Filter Friday email.
Which you are reading. (Thanks!)
Here’s what you can expect each Friday—
My recap of the newest Filter travel guides
1 thought on coffee or travel or both
1 Q&A (but only if you reply to my emails & have questions 🤓)
I don’t have space now to recap this week’s Filter guides but they cover everything from kitesurfing in Bordeaux, France, to the south London town of Brixton, to hiking in the American Southwest. Pierre, Anton, and Patrick all contributed Filter guides and they, as the kids say, understood the assignment.
You’ll hear from me again next Friday but until then keep up with Filter on our brand new website and our Instagram (which, I must say, has been featuring some sick giveaways of late).
Also forward this to a friend who likes to travel. They don’t even have to like coffee.
